Drawn from a single, traditional American bourbon cask Specially selected for bottling by the Malt Master Each bottling forms a limited edition of hand numbered bottles. A maximum of 350 bottles is obtained from any one cask.

Gentle floral aroma with hints of violet and lavender. Delicate smoke beautifully balanced with honeyed vanilla and spicy oakiness. Prominent smoke softens to reveal oaky honey and vanilla taste. Cinnamon and nutmeg develop with time. Sweet and spicy finish with a hint of smoke.

Following a long period of maturation in traditional American oak casks, the whisky is then finalized in large oak casks previously containing port Known as Port Pipes, these casks add a depth of flavor and some sweetness to The Balvenie. Sampled monthly by the Malt Master, they are only signed off for bottling, when the right amount of character has been imparted by the port.

After a lengthy period of maturation in traditional American oak casks, the whisky is finalized in large oak casks that previously contained port Great depth with rich dark chocolate, hints of plum, marzipan and caramelized pear Exceptionally smooth and warming finish with gentle spice and lingering sweetness.

The Balvenie, Tun 1401

The Balvenie Tun 1401 takes its name from the traditional wooden tun in which it is married. small samples of The Balvenie from six of the distillery's most precious casks were selected. They were then left to spend a few months getting to know one another in the oak vessel and, as he expected, the resulting malt proved to be even greater than the sum of its parts.
